Directv Customers Get Slashed During Hockey Season

The Patriots with Super Bowl wins in 2001, 2003, and 2004. The Red Sox were champs in 2004 and 2007, and the Boston Celtics coming from last place to win the championship in 2008. This leaves us with the Bruins to be the only team not to bring home a championship thus far. After seeing how well they bet up the Montreal Canadiens in last year’s playoffs. I have a feeling that this is the year that Zdeno Chara is drinking beer out of that Stanley Cup. There is just one little problem… I WON’T BE ABLE TO WATCH IT!!!
Here is my story. Earlier this year DirecTV came to me and said… “We have the most sports programming then any of our competitors.” Being from Boston I said “Gotta have my sports! Where do I sign up?” So when I first got it I was like, this is Great! I got the NFL Sunday Ticket, and it gave me every football game that played on Sunday. I was able to switch back and forth from the Pats game to check out what else was going on around the NFL. Then I

The Flames hockey team was originally formed thousands of miles away from Calgary. Tom Cousins was the head of a Georgia based group in 1972 who introduced hockey with Atlanta Flames to the South. Bill Putnam was chosen by the team as president and Cliff Fletcher as general manager to manage the operations. When Flames started playing in NHL, NHL was facing tough contest from World Hockey Association (WHA) that was getting popular in United States. Flames missed only two games out of their first eight NHL contests. Vancouver Nelson Skalbania and his partners got the ownership of team for million in 1980. Flames then moved north out of the Corral in Calgary.
Flames replaced Ptrick by Smythe division in their second season. They managed to set building blocks for prospect geographic contests. Flames traded Lanny McDonald from Colorado Rockies with Cliff Fletcher’s passionate shots. Team performed badly with below 0.500 that year and lost a contest against

Grab Your Ice Hockey Tickets, the Rush is Here!

It is said that `seeing is believing’ and once you have a look at the Niagara Falls you will understand the truth behind this statement. You might have read a lot about this world famous waterfalls and might have even viewed images or videos featuring the same, but to understand the awe-inspiring beauty of this work of nature, one has to see it personally. The deafening sound of water falling through a great height, the spray of mist on your face, the colorful rainbows that are formed from time to time make Niagara Falls stand in a different league altogether.

It was during the 1820’s that this beauty of nature was introduced to the tourism industry in a big way and in a short span of 50 years the number of visitors to this scenic site had increased by ten times making it the most popular tourist venue. Nowadays more than 12 million tourists visit these falls per year to admire its beauty. Even Hollywood has been bowled over by the grandeur of these

Nhl History: New York Rangers

The New York Rangers were formed on the heels of the success of another New York hockey team, the New York Americans of the NHL.  The Americans had proven that hockey could be successful in New York, leading Madison Square Garden president G.I. “Tex” Rickard to want to bring another team into the Garden.

The team was initially known as the New York Giants, but the media referred to them as “Tex’s Rangers.”  Rickard took the name and ran with it, formally adopting it and placing on the team’s uniforms.

The Rangers enjoyed great success in their early years.  They won Stanley Cups in each decade from the 20s to the 40s, winning three in all.

In 1942, the New York Americans folded, making the Rangers the only hockey team in New York.  From 1942 until 1967, the Rangers were one of six teams left in the NHL.  The six teams would be forever known as the “Original Six.”

The Rangers were not very successful during the Original Six era.

National Hockey League? Pass, Hit and Goal

National hockey league is a game that features about 30 odd ice hockey teams and it was created way back in 1917 in Canada. It is part of the major leagues that takes place in North America and National hockey League is commonly referred to as NHL. The thirty teams are divided into two sects of fifteen teams in each who play in all major championships. When it was initially founded, it had only about 4 teams and over the years it has gone through a major metamorphosis and today has many more teams and is very popular around the world. Of the total playing teams, about 6 of them are in Canada and rest in America. Its only in the recent past that there have been teams from Europe who have joined this league and competing in major tournaments. The leading team in National Hockey League are the Montreal Canadiens followed by Toronto Maple leafs, other teams are all close on the heels of these teams. In America, the leading team is the Detroit Red Wings and New York

Catch the Hottest Canadian Hockey Players on Satellite TV

Hockey has always been a bit more of a niche sport in the U.S. It’s incredibly popular in the north east, where long, hard winters and a border shared with hockey-obsessed Canada make it as popular as football in the American Midwest or soccer in Europe and Latin America. But it is slowly spreading to other parts of the country as well, with well-loved teams popping up as far south as Tampa Bay (the Lightening) and North Carolina (the Hurricanes), and as far west as Phoenix (the Coyotes) and San Jose (the Sharks). Relatively cheap live tickets and an electric, wintery atmosphere are making it one of the fastest-growing sports in America! And with sports-oriented satellite TV packages, you’ll be able to follow your favorite teams around the continent as they play games with other U.S. and Canadian teams.

But for some, watching a miniscule black puck flying back and forth across the ice for 2 hours, with the only relief being the occasional bloody fight

NHL ? History of Chicago Blackhawks

There are a number of great Hockey teams that make up the National Hockey League, and each of them has a rich history of tradition and loyalty.  One of these teams is the Chicago Blackhawks.  The Blackhawks are a team based out of Chicago, IL, and they currently play in the Central Division of the Western Conference.  The Chicago Blackhawks have had a history of winning ever since they have been in the NHL.  They have won a total of 14 division titles and three Stanley Cups during their existence.  They, along with five others, make up the original six teams of the NHL and play in the United Center in Chicago.  Previous to now, they played all of their home games at the Chicago Center but have since improved their playing facilities.

The history of the Chicago Blackhawks goes all the way back to their inception in 1926.  They were a part of the first expansion and they were first owned by Frederic McLaughlin who had made his fortune in the sales of

The Oldest NHL Jerseys Design Chicago Blackhawks

there were four teams in the National Hockey League. Eventually that number grew to six and today there are over thirty teams competing for Lord Stanley’s Cup. The Chicago Blackhawks have been with the league since the very beginning. They were there lacing up their skates when the first game opened back in the 1920 s and they are still here today. Their roster has changed with the generations of great hockey players but oddly enough their sweater has not changed much at all.

The Chicago Blackhawks hockey jersey is one of the oldest hockey styles in the game, if not the oldest. The red, white, and blue color scheme has remained steady throughout the decades and the players who have worn it have worn it with great pride. The Chicago Blackhawks are perhaps the most beloved team in Canada. If you speak French and live in Canada there is a good chance that you are a Chicago Blackhawks fan and own some form of Montreal Canadiens

Buy New Jersey Devils Tickets Online- a Quick and Easy Way to Get Tickets

New jersey Devils started their ice hockey tenure in Kansans City, Missouri in 1974. The team moved to Colorado after two seasons, finally settling in New Jersey in 1982. The Devils are a very popular team and it is better to get New Jersey Devils tickets booked in advance for the next season.

The Playing Career

In 1982, John McMullen bought the team. They won their first game against New York Rangers. In the 1983-84 season, the NHL all-star game was hosted by the Devils at the Brendan Nyrne Arena. Glenn “ Chio” Resch and Joe Cirella were the stars of the game, as they led the Wales Conference to victory.

The team improved considerably between 1984 and 1987. Young players like John Maclean, Kirk Muller, and Pat Verbeek were the strong players of the team. In April 1987, Lou Lamoriello was hired as the team coach. In the 1987-88 season, the Devils got off to a first winning record in their 13-year franchise

Blue NHL Hockey Jerseys always big in Demand

In this time when every boy wants to be the next Alexander Ovechkin or Sidney Crosby it stands to reason that Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins jerseys are flying off the shelves. However, even though the demand for current NHL sweaters is high, the market for vintage hockey jerseys is just as hot. Whether it is an oldtimer who likes to remember the glory days of the NHL, or a youngster who wants to wear something a little different than his friends hockey sweaters from defunct NHL teams are surprisingly popular.

One team like the Hartford Whalers, who truth be told, was one of the doormats of the league during its relatively brief NHL tenure, probably never sold much of its merchandise outside of its own city while the team was actually still in the league. However, more than a decade after the franchise moved to Carolina to become the Hurricanes, Whalers gear is now hotter than ever. The same can be said of franchises like the Quebec
