Goaltender mask – China CNC Machining Parts – Precision Fasteners

History
The first goaltender mask was a fiberglass fencing mask donned in February 1927 by Queen’s University netminder Elizabeth Graham, mainly to protect her teeth. In 1930, the first crude leather model of a mask (actually an american football “nose-guard”) was worn by Clint Benedict to protect his broken nose. After recovering from the injury, he abandoned the mask, never wearing one again in his career. At the 1936 Winter Olympics, Teiji Honma wore a crude mask, not dissimilar to the one worn by baseball catchers. The mask was made of leather, and had a wire cage which protected the face, as well as Honma’s large circular glasses.
It was not until 1959 that a goaltender wore a mask full-time. On November 1, 1959, in a game between the Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL), Canadiens goaltender Jacques Plante was struck in the face by a shot from Andy Bathgate. Plante had previously worn his mask in practice, but coach Toe Blake

The History Of Hockey Town

In Hockey Town, there’s only one team to root for — the Detroit Red Wings. The team currently resides just a luxury sedan or limo ride away at Joe Louis Arena, located in downtown Detroit. Here are some team historical highlights:

1920s – The Red Wings go all the way back to the old Western Hockey League, when the Victoria (British Columbia) Cougars were sold to a group from Detroit on September 25, 1926. The team played its home games in Windsor, Ontario. The Victoria Cougars had won the Stanley Cup in 1925 and were Cup finalists in 1926, but the Detroit Cougars finished 12-28-4; the NHL’s worst record for the 1926-27 season.

Help came in 1928, in the form of Jack Adams as the team’s coach and general manager. Adam’s tenure as coach and GM would last until the 1962-63 season, when Sid Abel took over. With Adams at the helm, the team made the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.

The team also moved into

Chicago Black Hawks

McLaughlin had really worked very hard for the development of the team, despite the fact that he had no clear understanding of the sport. He had served as his own general manager during the time, he had owned the team. He had a great interest in the promotion of American hockey players, which was not a very popular trend at the time. There were many great names like Doc Romnes, Taffy Abel, Alex Levinsky, Mike Karakas, Cully Dahlstrom and others, become attached with the club, and under McLaughlin, the Black Hawks were the first NHL team to field an all-American-born lineup. The Hawks’ had a fair one first season and finished near the top of the league’s scoring race. The Black Hawks had lost their 1927 first-round playoff series to the Boston Bruins, who had made the playoffs for the first time ever. It is interesting that the Blackhawks were recognized as the worst team in the NHL at that time.

Maple Leafs Vs Canadiens Live streaming NHL 2009

Season Series: One of the League’s top rivalries renews itself for the third time this season, and both of the previous games have required some bonus hockey to determine a winner. Josh Gorges scored with 12.8 seconds left in overtime for a 4-3 Montreal win on opening night at the Air Canada Centre, and the Canadiens prevailed 5-4 at the Bell Centre on Halloween night on the strength of shootout goals by Scott Gomez and Mike Cammalleri.

Team Scope: It’s a big week for the Habs, who will celebrate their 100th anniversary on Friday when another Original Six rival in Boston comes to town. First up, though, they want to take care of business against the Leafs, who popped in six goals Friday to down Florida before a 3-0 shutout loss to Buffalo at the Air Canada Centre on Monday.
